I don't even use the bleeder screw. I use a wet/dry shop vac and apply vacuum repeatedly to the header tank. Heater on max also. The dealer fill tool applies a vacuum while filling. Thats what gave me the idea. Has always worked great for me.

Cool. Well, I finally got all the air bled out (helped to turn the heater on), got the front end back together, took him out for a ride. Runs great! No issues so far, but only a few miles. The next couple of weeks will tell!

Thank You so much for your help, Lou! You were a super help in my quest to get this thing hammered out. You ever get to SoCal, let me know. I owe you a few beers, or a lunch or something!

Cheers!
Chris

Thats outstanding news Chris. Wohoo! Glad I could help out. I would pay special attention for any valve train noise just off idle or at low load. Maybe pull the valve cover in 100 miles or so and take a look at the cam lobes just to be sure. But it sounds like you have it licked. Nicely done!

Thanks, Lou! Yes sir, he had a little tick on startup, but that went away quickly, and has not returned. I will definitely be keeping close eyes and ears on the mill for a while. These are noisy little buggers, but all I am hearing are the usual sounds. I am a mechanic by trade, so I know what bad noises sound like, generally. Never dug into one of these before, as I work on Police Interceptors for a living.

Thanks Again, Lou!
Chris
