R56 Bosch Scan Tool?

Bosch Scan Tool?
Anyone have/use a Bosch 1100 or 1300 scanner for their R56? They are OBDII + CAN; from their literature/manual I can not determine if I need additional software - I'll look in to that some more.
Asking because they are available for purchase locally and I would like to solve my prob. here ASAP instead of the headache of taking it to the shop.
R56 2007 Justa - tries to stumble at idle but straightens out with a tap on the gas and stays steady at 700 RPM.
March/2016 crankshaft seal replaced, cooling tube, water pump replaced
Nov./2016 both Vanos solenoids replaced, timing chain done, new oil pan and valve cover gaskets.
Thanks.

Would be better off with this MINI specific tool. Some of the general tools dont pull up MINI specific codes

Ok, thanks. I'm finding out there are quite a lot of scanners, software, and opinions as to which is best. Difficult choice.
I'm now leaning toward just getting a 40.00 cable and downloading the INPA software.
Our MIni independent shop here is good but a longish haul from our house - I don't want to rearrange our schedules and make a big production every time an O2 sensor goes bad or a vacuum leak pops up.
126,000 now - major repairs dealt with - hopefully most issues that come up in the near future I will be able to fix here in the garage.
