Cleaning A/C Buttons Grease

I have a MINI Cooper R56 2010 pre LCI with CD player and A/C buttons in gray color.
The buttons have a lot of dirt, something like a mixture of grease and glue due to finger touch for many months. At some point I tried to clean them with alcohol, but this only removed a little of the gray paint on the buttons (in an area of the button that is not visible).
What is the secret or the product that I should use to remove this dirt on painted plastic buttons?

Attached picture is similar to my current status...

I used an All Purpose Cleaner, a fiber cloth and some scrubbing was involved.

Sonax Plastic Cleaber, Mother's plastic/interior cleaner, Trinova interior cleaner should work. If really doing it cheapo, diluted vinegar solution with a green scotch brite pad.

Well be careful with solvents. Anything that will be a good solvent for grease will like take paint off as well. I would try SuperClean. My guess is the all purpose cleaner won't be strong enough.

It was not made as a "cheapo option", but it worked better than commercial products!
After a few seconds, the dirt began to move and I could remove it with the same cotton with which I moved it.

Great!
