07 cooper s RaceChip?

Im looking to do a quick and easy tune on my 07 and I see RaceChip has a unit for the car. Anyone here have experience with them on the mini?. I have used their stuff on an audi and VW I had previously and it worked fine, but wondering if anyone here has one on the car and has some feedback ?. thanks

I don't have any experience with RaceChip, so hopefully someone else can chime in with any experience there - I do, however, have experience with the RPM Stage 2 tune and if the charts are to be believed (I haven't dyno'd it and don't really plan to) RPM Stage 2 takes the MCS from 165whp to ~230whp which is a drastic jump from stock. There's also a Stage 1 tune if you haven't or don't plan on changing any bolt-ons. It's more expensive than what I saw on RaceChip's website, but I just wanted to at least mention this as an alternative if you haven't yet heard of it. If you need any information on it, get in touch with @MarioKart on here - he's way more knowledgeable about it than me!

We've tried them and have found that a real ECU tune by far out performs and is more cost effective than any of the piggy back modules like the racechip.

WMW... I clicked on the link and your description is rather cryptic.

What are the needed mods for stage 1/2/3/4?

What are the expected HP (BHP) levels with these stages?

Do they interfere with the ability to have the car smogged?

.

Not specific to WMW tunes, what I've seen in general for tunes are:
Stage 1: stock car
Stage 2: High flow downpipe, high flow intake, intercooler
Stage 3: Stage 2 reqs + bigger turbo
Stage 4: (I'm not certain on this one, but. . .) previous reqs + internal strengthening
I don't think stage 3 is capable of surviving long without internal strengthening as well, but WMW can verify that I'm sure

Not sure on HP figures.

The only thing that would interfere with smog would be if you removed your cats. There are high flow options if you need to pass smog tests.

Nothing cryptic about it.
I don't post HP numbers as there is no way to say what each persons car will gain as it will be dependent on so many things like fuel, compression, turbo condition, mods like intercooler, downpipe and so on. When other companies give numbers they are just throwing crap at the wall to sound good or just making guesses. The range of power gains will be so dependent on each car that we can't put a number on it because as soon as we say it will make XX power and someone doesn't get that much they will be mad or feel cheated.
Also the gains will be dependent on which exact ECU hardware and software is in your car as not all the maps and ECUs are the same so it just adds another variable.

As for the tunes:
Basic tune requires NO mods, but you can have mods and do it. Will gain at least 10hp, but have seen 30hp gains. More about giving you a small bump in power, throttle response without effecting anything.
Stage 1 we suggest having at least a larger intercooler, but again you can have more mods too. Gains are even higher. For example last GP we did made 240 tq at the wheels with NO mods and this tune
Stage 2 we suggest having an intercooler and downpipe. This tune will run more boost, fuel, and timing advance over the stage 1
Stage 3 and higher are for big turbo conversions and custom things so not for the average customer.

Thanks Way..

Lets, for the sake of this discussion , not consider JCW nor GP models, nor N14 engines.

What can be expected stage 1 AND stage 2 from a 2011 MCS with the N18 using your ECU re-program... not a ‘ piggyback’ tuner

Lets take for granted of parts install that there is a CAI, an uprated intercooler, After-dowpipe exhaust.... retaining the factory catalyst. All stock engine internals with no internal mods and stock CR.... running 91 octane pump fuel with 10% ethanol and no fuel addetives.
