rear suspension replacement help

Hello Mini Experts,

I need help finding the parts for a job I need to do. I have a 2008 Mini Cooper R56 (Base Hatchback, SOHC engine)

JOB: Replace rear suspension/struts and maybe rear tie rods as well.
PARTS: what parts do I need for these jobs?

Any help with part numbers or links to websites are extremely appreciated.

Thank you.

Try ECS tuning or FCP Euro

Hello,

I can help.

I would do the powerflex bushings, do it once and never worry again. Here are all the bushings, black series is for race, most people just use "performnace" versions/ they are currently on sale with 10% off.

Front and Rear shocks: Most people either go with Bilstein or Koni, for just normal use the B4 Bilstein shock are good.

You will hear people talking about the struts being shot around 50,000 miles. What, many will say, I have 75,000 on mine and they still work good? Well actually they don't, they just think they do. I had 55,000 on mine, there was no rebound and I could just about push the piston rod down by blowing on it.

How low is it with that setup and how is the ride quality? Also what spring rates? I’m thinking of ditching my bc racing coilovers and going with the Koni/Eibach setup on my 200mi+ a day daily driver. It seems like I spend more time watching out for pot holes than actually driving.

Are you looking for a performance upgrade or just making a repair to a daily driver?

Just looking to repair my daily driver. So specific parts would be awesome, as I have a local guy do the work, and I simply buy the parts. I just want to make sure I get what I need.

grab a set of these Bilstein b4 from ECS.
might as well do all four while you’re at it.
