Suspension Cooper Sport Suspension rear sway vs. Cooper S rear sway
Cooper Sport Suspension rear sway vs. Cooper S rear sway
My boss just bought a 19mm Alta bar with endlinks for his JCW MC40 and I want to know if I can use his rear bar in my Cooper with Sport Suspension. What's the diameter difference? I have the sport suspension and he has whatever suspension came stock with the MC40s (I think it's just the standard sport suspension that was included in the sport package).
I was considering upping the bar to a JCW bar from Minspeed because it was inexpensive but if I can install this bar instead and perk up the rear end then it would be awesome.

My MCS came with Sport Suspension and rear sway bay is 17mm. The MC came with 16mm. Get a micro-caliper and check if it's 16mm. Some people put a modified 17mm (from MCS) by drilling a hole 1 inch from orig. hole to give a bit more stiffness. Irregardless, they were happy going to 17mm and even happier going to 19mm. If your boss is giving it away for free, you have nothing to lose. Look at R56 MCS in the claasified parts section, they came with 18mm.
Do the bushings fit from the rear sway going from an R56 to an R50? I didn't know that part was interchangable!
I think he actually has the Sport Suspension Plus actually so I'm going to get that bar on my car instead. It's 18mm I believe.
