Unplugged Sensor

Quick question. Planing on buying this Mini today but noticed this sensor is not connected. Car runs fine...no codes. Is this something that should be hooked up, or is it just not used on this model/trim? I can't find a connector loose that looks like it belongs on it.

this is the coolant temp sensor. it is now moved to the thermostat housing where the new temp sensor resides.

Thanks! I thought it looked like a coolant sensor. So no worries that it's not hooked up.

correct. in the newer cars, that elbow is eliminated all together and it is a straight run. You should be fine.

What was the seller's response regarding it?

Good deal. The seller was unsure about it. Since there were no codes and no unplugged connector dangling around I felt pretty confident it was probably unused, but was surprised they didn't just put a plug in there vs. leaving the unused sensor.

Thanks again for the quick response. A couple of new tires are getting installed as we speak and then this little clubby will be my wife's new ride!

Yes it has the updated thermostat and they have a little pigtail wire that works with the older harness. 6/2010- 3/2012 for the Cooper (non-s) 12517646145
