Cheapest place for a HPFP

Hey my fuel pump is going out and I don't have the funds to buy a 1k fuel pump i remember looking before finding on of a website but i am unable to find it now. And i checked in the warranty and the last fuel pump was replaced at 1,700 miles... I currently have 143k miles so unfortunately i am unable to do anything.

Try looking on ebay with the exact part number. Found one for myself from a Mini dealership selling them for $800.

The prices doubled on them last year. Make sure you replace the steel line that runs from the pump to the fuel rail. There are also at least 2 part numbers for these so before purchasing make sure you are looking for the correct part number. You can look at www.realoem.com with the last 7 digits of your vin number.

I snagged one off ebay for $100 it said it was untested but gave it a shot and scored a deal. But like someone said replace the line from the hpfp to injector I tried it without and it wouldn't stop leaking that small line is like $40. ugh

Some days mine would crank up just fine others it would crank and stumble barely run then die. It would do this a couple of times or so then run just fine. Normally had more problems when cold out, but nothing else was wrong while driving, just the startups. Changed the HPFP and no problems since.

Maybe see if you can get a good will discount from your closest dealer? I find that politeness and genuine requests go a long way.

This is good advice. Dealers are unfairly abused. Like everything else, I expect there are some dealers that don't treat their customers well. However, they are people....treat them with respect, maintain a good relationship and they'll do what they can.
