Need some advise: Oil filter housing/thermostat
Hi guys, im about to have my oil filter housing gasket replaced. Does anyone know if i should have any other components replaced as well while im there? My car has 200,000 km, and i believe everything is original.
Thermostat, waterpump perhaps?

Turbo oil line and return line, and maybe oil cooler gasket (oil cooler sits on top of OFH). Detroit tuned super turbo oil line kit plus the oil cooler gasket will get you all the required parts.
Right on top. Right side front top of engine. Runs from front cam. I replaced the seal first but from what I heard from the experts at Way is that if it leaks you replace it. That is good advice because I replaced the gasket and it still leaked. Replaced pump and leak was fixed! Hope this helps!!
I would also replace the gasket between the oil cooler and oil filter housing while your there. Also replace the oil feed line to the turbo. While you have the coolant drained you may want to replace the water pump if it's the original plastic design, the new design is all metal. And if you do the water pump also replace the serpentine belt depending on when you last replaced it.

With that kind of mileage, you should take a real close look at the turbo while its out - how much play there is (like get a magnifying glass and look at it) and look at the wastegate while the turbo is out...it's probably pretty worn....maybe even loose/not entirely sealing....even if you are a conservative driver.
Lastly, consider replacing the auxiliary water pump...it can be replaced without removing too much, but it's relatively cheap and it is critical to your turbo health esp in hot weather.
Keep us posted.
