Installed WMW resonator delete: no change

So the title pretty much says it all. I installed the WMW resonator delete on my 07 JCW. I don't feel or hear any difference at all. The next step for the car is noise maker delete and possibly replace the JCW intake for something else.

I was really hoping to have a big difference in hearing the turbo spooling. =(

Has anyone else experienced this before?
Will I benefit more from sound after installing an aftermarket intake over the JCW intake?

If sound is what you want, then yes, aftermarket intake. Doesn't really matter which, any exposed filter intake will increase turbo sound tenfold. If performance is what you want, however, stick with the jcw.

Perfect, thanks for that answer.

Do you think that deleting the noisemaker, it would reduce the engine noise in the cabin to allow me to hear the turbo a bit more?

Save your money from buying all that bolt on crap and get a Manic Stage 1 tune, then you'll see an improvement.

Removing the noisemaker would reduce in-cabin noise, including turbo/diverter valve noise. So you would hear less. Once again, if turbo noise is your main goal, leave the noisemaker and get an exposed filter intake. Then you'll hear it all excessively inside and out. And if that's not loud enough for you, get an aftermarket turbo too. It will sound like Darth Vader with asthma every time you accelerate even in the slightest, not kidding. But yeah, obviously if power is your goal it's to be found elsewhere, a tune being one of those places.

The WMW resonator delete pipe isn't meant to increase sound. It's designed to reduce restriction in the turbo outlet pipe to keep the air speed up in the pipe and help improve the speed of air going into the engine as speeding the airflow up going into the engine will help increase throttle response.

If you want noise go with a cheap open intake like the DDM.

This is the most cost effective way to increase sound. But since you have a JCW intake I would leave that on as they are actually about the best intake you can get as they increase torque and don't heatsoak, or suck all the hot engine air in from the engine compartment. So installing an open intake will actually reduce torque. I'd rather have more power and less sound.

Our Noise maker delete will actually just improve throttle response more, doesn't really change sound. By removing the noise maker you remove the pipe and diaphram that bleed off boost to pump noise into the cabin. But that bleed off reduces the throttle response. That is why we want to delete it.

I put on a K&N cone filter on mine and you will definitely hear the 'pssshhh' sounds when shifting.

Ha, at first I felt like a goof doing this and letting off the gas when I do just to hear the BOV a bit. Now I don't care.
