R56 Anybody still have AP tunes for upgraded turbos?
Anybody still have AP tunes for upgraded turbos?
Hey there all! It's been a while. So after much trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with my JCW, Jacques at Bay Bridge and I have decided to replace the turbo (and then we're gonna hope it's not valve stem seals). Anyways, I've been running my AP stage 3 tune for a while now pretty reliably, and I've got just about every upgrade I could get, with a 42mm turbo being the next thing on the list. So now that that should be installed in the next day or two, I'm really feeling a new map to go along with it.
I'd heard a rumor of someone on NAM named Mario who could help with a new tune (something like a stage 3plus or a stage 4) and also I'd heard about a dyno shop in Salt Lake that probably still has the AccessTuner software. I've been considering just getting one of RMW's new devices along with a custom tune from them, but if I can get a tune for the new turbo on my AccessPort that would be amazing.
New turbo is a 42mm compressor quick spool twin scroll, with a 360 thrust bearing made of inconel, so it can definitely handle a bit of an upswing in power. I'm typically running with about 260hp to the wheels (and that was a fairly conservative tune to increase reliability), so with this turbo I should be able to easily get at least another 20-40hp safely on top of whatever natural gains come as a result of the turbo itself.
I just want it to be optimized as best as it can be, because obviously the delivery will be ALOT stronger but it may come 100-200rpm later than the stock turbo.
Anyone with any info on anybody with AccessTuner or somebody who has maps for a Cooper S JCW with a bigger turbo please let me know on here or via email: cosmicamnesia@rocketmail.com
