2011 Cooper S tune question
Been searching for a tune for my new (to me) R56 S. I've researched the forums and checked the vendors and everything I'm coming up with requires ECU removal and mailing. I know the Cobb AccessPort was discontinued. Since an at-home flash doesn't seem like an option, does anyone know of any shops in the NYC tri-state area that tunes the R56 N18 motor?

KMD Tuning in Saddle Brook, NJ is a Manic Motorsport dealer. You can get a Manic Stage 1 tune with no other modifications from them for $500, $700 if you want the map switcher. They've taken care of my 2011 for Stage 1 and Stage 2, if/when I do Stage 3 I'll be going to them again.
As far as the tune itself, Manic is pretty much the most popular R56 tune out there right now. The guys who made the Manic tunes are ex-Revo tuners and use Revo hardware, so it's all legit. Stage 1 can be run with no modifications, but can be adjusted for things like intakes or intercoolers. Stage 2 needs a full exhaust (downpipe for the most part), bigger front mount intercooler and an air intake upgrade.

I had a RENNtech tune before it and my MCS didn't run anywhere near as well as the Manic tune does. Plus if you upgrade your turbo/I/DP/E, etc, you only pay the difference in upgrading the tune. Your R56 will feel like a whole new beast.
