Going Catless but have a question.

So I just got my milltek catless downpipe back from swaintech. It was ceramic coated with their white lightning (turned out great and was only $75). During the month my downpipe was away I had a lot of Bill pop up and set me behind my tune schedule. I'd like to install it this weekend but I don't think I'll be able to get the tune for another month or so. Is it alright to install now or should I just wait until I'm closer to doing it. I'm not very patient if you can't tell lol. Thanks for the help!

The tune can be post DP install, no issues

Yeah I know my question is is there any downside to running it now without one? I guess my two main concerns are will it affect the air fuel ratio reading from the o2 sensor and two the fact that the CEL will be on which means I won't know if I get one for something else unless I buy a scan tool and check on a regular basis.

You will just have a light on, but it doesn't affect the cars performance

So I just did this install yesterday and have run a few miles with the DP in. I also have the Milltek. The CEL just popped on but I cant imagine you will run into issues. I am going to be taking a 14 hour drive to Wisconsin on Sunday so I can update you to let you know how that goes with it in. Its loud though lol, I am not sure if I did something wrong...

It will be loud. I noticed drone at around 75 mph with my catless DP and it would get annoying on long trips

Took the trip out here to Wisconsin and had no issues whatsoever. The vehicle ran great and just ate up the miles. Couldn't be happier. i say put that ***** on because the exhaust notes alone make it a blast to have on.

So quick update. Got the job done. The car sounds amazing. I was hoping that the backfires would be louder. Guess the resonator of the q300 muffles them a little bit. Ran into a few issues. I took the lower heat shield off but couldn't get it out so I just had to make it work. I also had my car eat a socket trying to put the heat shield back on. Also had to cut my invidia q300 for it to fit into the downpipe. During the install I had to make about 4 trips to the store because it required some tools I didn't have to reach some of those places. All in all totally worth it. Now time to save for the tune! Manic stage 2 Baby!!!

I'll see what I can do. I'm going to be getting the manic tune next week so I'll make a general video about my car with some sound clips for you guys. Just so you know it sounds great. I still have the resonator but just normal driving isn't crazy loud but it sounds great and not like a ricer. At WOT this thing sounds mean and the pops are awesome. I totally reccomend it. You'll have to get a tune to get rid of the CEL though.

Fully catless and tuned with the Invidia (with no resonator) is loud. Very loud lol. Big difference if you've taken your back seats out, the drone will get you on the freeway. I did MTTS the whole way this year, got out of the car each day with ears ringing and a headache. Wouldn't have it any other way though, the noise this car makes going through tunnels is hilarious. Hilarious as in how the ***** does a MINI make sounds that glorious. And being Manic tuned the exhaust pops are more like gunshots in sport mode. It's also hilariously glorious.
