R56 Rusty rotor or something else.
Can someone confirm what these water mark looking spots are(not the rust). These are new rotors and just want to make sure they're not high spots.
They have been on the car for about 150 miles, so they're not entirely bedded. The other side of the car doesn't have this on the rotors, so I'm a bit concerned. Sent from iPhone

If so may be hard water or simple corrosion

looks like what rust marks look like after you rub off the loose orange crud. Your pads should scrub the dark marks off if they are contacting the rotor properly. Try hitting the spots with scotchbrite.
If your new brakes are not bedded by 150 miles, I am curious as to what your break in procedure is

Yea, looks like someone sprayed water on them briefly after you parked the car. Surface rust. Yea and there not coated so the hat and edge are rusty.

Thanks for the replies guys.
When I'm able to get back on the road. I'll take it for a real drive on the highway and see if i can't get the rotors to clean themselves. Sent from iPhone

They don't appear to bedded, they're ebc reds. 150 miles is what it said on my odometer and I have no idea when I hit the reset, so it is very possible I haven't put that many on it.

Rusty rotor or something else.
My bedding process is 5 stops from 40 to 10 mph pretty quickly do not stop the car u do not want to create a hot spot that 5 stops from 35 to 5 than a quick highway run to cool them off and your good you'll Snell all the crap burning off
minivinnie92---sounds like a good bedding procedure to me. I work on Police vehicles for a career, and I do something very similar. But, I do it twice, first after install, then another after a complete cool down. And to the OP, I say more driving is in order. I see no issues so far.
Rusty rotor or something else.
Ya unfortunately a lot of times the customer is waiting and I don't get that luxury of a cool down the most important part is to not stop the car when they are that hot to u don't create a low spot
Another thing that has happened to me personally when stopping with hot brakes and holding the pedal on? Pad transfer. Makes for a rough spot on the rotor, which will lead to a pulsation in the brakes. Hard to bed brakes properly, but it must be done.
