One trim ring on my wife's 08 clubman has started to do this. Guess I'll buy another & replace it once it gets looking bad.

Just noticed this today on my passenger side 2012 headlight ring. I just returned from my first snow trip to the Mammoth Mountain area in the Mini. It got down to 5* at night and a couple days never got above freezing. The Mini got lots of snow and froozen ice. I am wondering if water may have got under the chrome plate and the freezing expanded it? Could also just be different expantion and freezing mass of the chrome plate and material it is applied to. Never noticed this before the trip. Who knows?

Will have to replace it soon, as it looks ratty (car is 4 years old).

It's been seen a few times before. Check out this NAM thread here. Headlight ring here if needed.

Yes , looks like some water got under it from a rock chip and lifted the foil.

I had the black line versions with no issues. Have not seen too many chrome one do that.
