I got a used rack oem for my MINI the person told me it was for a r56 but when I try installing it, it sits to high, is it the wrong one or what??, the pillars don touch the roof

Yea, need some more info. Roof rack for the R56 comes one form for the R56. Unless they gave you one for the R55 Clubman that aatches to the factory inner roof rails.

It could also be that the OP doesn't realize OEM rails are higher to clear the sunroof?
