I'm waiting for an email back, but if I don't get it I don't mind. Just means I might spend my tax return on a third car for a project instead of painting and installing this kit

Yeah, so I got a followup email just now saying that paint is "an additional $500, roughly" so even though the kit may be $300 or whatever I'd still have to shell out more money to get it painted. That's actually cheap for the full kit to be painted...dilemma. I know I don't need it painted because it'll be stored away somewhere, but at the same time, cheap to pass up...

$500 to paint would be pretty damn cheap. I'd say paint it, clear bra it, store it.

Just talked to my parts guy - unfortunately he said MINI only had like 5 of these kits available in the entire US and they went pretty much instantly. He said his dealership has a few kits in stock that they've had sitting around for a long time so he's checking with his manager to see if he can give me a good deal on one of those. Unfortunately it won't be the $330 that the blackband kit would have been.

I've been in the auto body business for 30yrs and I would say $500 is a deal but chances are if you store it for some time it will get scratched and need repainted anyhow. Besides if you wait to long to put on you might move on to some other project. Just my 2 cents.

But guys it's NAM pricing. He's hooking us up by cutting off $100 off his Ebay asking price.

if you're lucky, your local dealer may have some old stock of factory painted kit for less than $1500 for pre-LCI. my friend got his factory painted pepper white and that was 3 years ago!

I picked mine up yesterday. I have to get an inventory sheet. I've only had time to quickly go through it but it appears to all be there. The only things I didn't see were the JCW sill plates, that doesn't really bother me. It will be a while before I install anything. I want a handful of new parts to go along with the kit. I do have to decide on gloss black or satin for the trim. It may go on sooner, it all depends on how much the paint ends up costing, my hood has more then it's share of rock chips.

What do you guys think, gloss or satin? I think satin would still look cool and not stock just because it would be smooth and easier to take care of. Gloss would stand out more from the rest of the Minis. My car already stands out like a sore thumb. Almost no modified Mini around here.

This is a question I have too. I have a Laser Blue MCS. Do I do Gloss Black for all the trim? Or do I do Body color? From all the picture searches, I can't find any Laser Blue with Black Painted arches. There are a few body colored Laser Blue kits you can find and they look cool. But I would really like to see both before I decide. Obviously I have time but maybe someone on here has done the Gloss Black trim with Laser Blue before so I can actually see it.

Bummer, I still have no update from my dealer. So I'm guessing I'm not getting it either...

Bank acct showed funds were returned, not sure why, so I contacted my dealership and they said they were going to get the parts in first and then discuss painting options because I really just need the side skirts painted since I already have a spare JCW front being painted already. So the rest of the kit will go into storage. We'll see what happens! As I've said, if it doesn't pan out and they don't have a kit, no big deal, either way, I'll end up spending the money on something else soon enough.

It appears they are all gone. They were until they ran the supply out.

This is funny because I'm the one whom started this thread but I'M ALSO A REJECT!!! Ha ha. MINI emailed me later in the day stating that the kit I ordered was for a "Justa" Cooper not an S like the drop down menu said. To the best of my knowledge, ECS is all out of stock too.

All well... Hopefully someone saw this thread, bought one and is WINNING right now lol.

Isnt the justa kit and the s kit the same minus the exhaust trim and I found a dealer that supposedly has it and they gave me a shipping quote of $20 they are a whole state away....that seems too good to be true.

I'm really curious if my order will even complete. I mean my dealer did say they have to "order it" also, so it's in that grey area you know. I may end up in the same boat...
