Yeah, people get greedy, and order a dozen, for resale.
Now there are none left.

Same thing happened with Autozone, they had Castrol for $1 quart free shipping, garages were ordering 200 to 300 at a time, thus depleting the available stock for average joes.

When they show up on eBay I will not buy one.

That's what people really need to start doing with a lot of stuff. That's why so many things are so damn expensive.

At $1300 it would still be a deal but out of principle I won't buy one.

I don't see that as greedy. I see it as, if you have the funds, why not buy one, or a dozen. If it's for profit, so be it. I know a person who coupons like crazy and after 6 months she has a huge yard sale and banks off of everything she got. Do I call her greedy? No, I just say "well played".

If I did, I'd probably order 3 kits, but I won't. I wouldn't even know what I'd do with it, but would I want a full spare kit? Yeah, sure, rock chips are a PITA and I chew through my painted fenders on a regular basis.

Well I've attempted to puchase and base cooper kit from ECS. Its more expensive since I can't drive over a few states to pick it up, but we will see if it works. I have a gut feeling the cooper kits are NLA as well, even though it says its still available on ECS. I'll just sell the rear cooper exhaust trim piece and get a GP diffuser instead. Here's hoping!

Oh yea and just use the plastic arches I already have. Don't know why I didn't think of that. Probably would save a good amount on the paint bill too.

Regardless worst case scenario I have to buy a $220 bumper rail. Peanuts compared to the thousands that I saved.
There is a kit for 2011+... It's HERE.

Where ever they pop up is the person who bought them all. Or something goofy is going on like they only had a certain amount and they wanted to dump them off

I've seen a company do this for a set of heads one time just to see what interest would come up. Then they committed financially and contacted the customers again. But, customers were to pissed off about what they did.

Its more of a fire sale. They deplete the "kits" and make all the parts al la carte afterwards. It happens every so many years but it is rare and you typically have to be in the industry to find out. With the internet and dealer employees selling parts via the internet these days the average joe finds out. There are not many units on sale . There are typically single digit quantities of a dozen so part numbers. It is unlikely any 1 person got 12 since there were very few out there in the first place. I personally ordered 1 thru esctuning just because MINI had none and it was still a deal for the customer who wanted it. One of my customers got lucky and got the last Cooper kit ecstuning had. They had 3 total and he got the last one if that gives you an idea of how few kits their are out there. If you really want one wait about 5 years when the 2011-13 LCI kits will go on sale.

I think I must have got the 2nd to last then! I ordered mine from ECS yesterday morning. I'm looking forward to getting my kit!

Mine's waiting at the loading dock for me to pick it up. I didn't want wait till the end of the week when they could deliver it.

Euro, that's basically how it was described to me by Adam at ECS.

Well, I got confirmation from my local dealership that they accepted my order. They asked about getting it installed from them, but I declined, so hopefully they can just get it painted and then I'll have a spare kit I can get clearbra'd and stored away whenever I need to bring it out to a show/meet. I'll have a full spare kit and another spare JCW front bumper I have had for months now that'll have my Challenge Splitter installed to.

I was thinking about doing a clear vinyl wrap on the bumpers before installing all the trim. I was wondering though if all the trim pieces will still clip together ok if I did that.

YIKES! I found through my 4 attempts to get this deal, the dealers didn't do anything until you called, or emailed them. Poor parts service. And this was from different dealers across the US

I'm not sure about vinyl, but clearbra will be the way to go for me. I'll be getting the side skirts, front bumper, and wheel arches clearbra'd. I'm not too worried about the rear bumper. Rear arches should definitely get clearbra'd though because rock chips eat them up badly.

Yeah, I got 2 emails this morning about my order. We'll see if they actually get them though also.
