a new MINI in the driveway

My MINI lease (a 2011 justa) is coming to end in 4 months and today I purchased a 2012 MINI Cooper S Convertible!
A totally different model than I had in mind, because my list said, no not an S because it costs more money and speeding tickets, no not a convertible because I cannot use my bike rack anymore...It just happened that this model in the showroom had only 71000 km, loaded with Harman Kardon, navigation, black spoke wheels and my monthly payment i $100 less than my lease. Hard to say no! Am so excited!!!!!!

I said 'only 71000km' but it actually is quite a number. Myself, I drive usually 20K a year. Anyhow, it sounds like a great deal to me. Thought I was going to get a 2015 new model but more like a base model. However, walking into the dealership and seeing this great little car with all the options (sports package, wired package, style package, Harmon Kardon sound system, etc), think I should get it.
I got approved for financing today. So photos will follow as soon as it is here on the drive way. Hope it is a good decision, what would you think?

As I have a 2011 R56S, and have driven Justa loaner cars when my ride was in for warranty work, I will say that you will be amazed by the POWER of the S model! It's like night and day! I found that I got worse MPG with the Justa, because I was constantly flogging it to get it going. My S has plenty of power, even down to 1800 RPM or so, therefore requiring less downshifts, and that equals less wear on my clutch. Granted, the Justas I had were auto, but just feeling the torque curve and the transmissions constant shifting, I am glad to have the extra power of the S model. Have fun, Motor On, and watch out for those speed traps! I find myself going WAY TOO FAST before I even know it!

My 2007 MCS had plenty of power. My 2014 JCW has almost too much (yes I got a ticket in it). They say the F56 Justa is almost as fast as the R56 MCS, which I doubt.

My new ride! From a 'base model' a non-S hatchback going to a fully loaded S convertible. So happy!
