Exhaust pops and burbles with 2007 MCS

Hi!

I have had a 2007 MCS for some time now and know that they programmed the pops and burbles out for the first few years of the R56, but does any one know if there is a way to program them back in? Maybe with a tune? Any shops in the southeastern US that will do it? And, has anyone encountered any problems with the tuning if it can be done? REALLY pissed I didn't do my research before I bought an '07!

I have done a sport intake and invidia Q300 exhaust and get some VERY mild pops and such, but NOTHING like the newer R56's. Taking off the resonator next. Anything else mechanically that will help?

Thanks for your help!

Keep motoring!

I've been able to achieve moderate popping with my '07. The exhaust I have started to pop last year. NM Downpipe back exhaust, so the resonator size is reduced. So that started the process. But what really got the pop and burble going was switching out my cat with a catless downpipe. With or without my tune loaded the popping is fairly consistent.

As for and tuner programming that in, you'd have to contact individual tuners and see if thats something they do. I don't think there a lot of them that can, or will, program that kind of feature however.

Thanks! Does your car still pass inspection with a catless DP? What state are you in? Or did you find a "friend" at an inspection depot? I'm almost sure catless would fail NC.

Does you get the pops and such both in sport mode and not?

Thanks for your reply!

In NC catless downpipe will fail. You would want to find a friend. BTW what part of NC? I'm in Greensboro ..

No inspections here in Iowa. Yipeeee! And a catless DP will fail a sniffer test but should pass a OBDII test if you have a tune that keeps the code away.

The popping happens in either mode. With my tune I don't need to activate sport mode as it really doesn't do anything. When I'm running stock it heppens less, especially since its below Zero degrees out now, the exhaust just doesn't get hot enough to make the pops.
