Last week i took my mini cooper s to the mini dealership for oils and filter changings. My mcs makes a sound like the one when the wheel bearings are making when they need to be changed. Anyway the dealer told me that the sound comes from the gearbox and that i have to change all of it since mini doesn't offer any compartments for it. The gearbox costs $6300 excluding labour hours. My question is, Did anyone opened the gearbox and changed the bearings and if show do you know the dimensions of them?
