R56 channel swap question
channel swap question
I did the channel swap with the female pins last night. when using the fader, turning the **** to the left should make the sound goto the front if its swapped?
I'm thinking the previous owner already swapped it. cause when I turn the **** in fader to the left, it goes to the rear.
if you havn't done the swap. can you tell me which direction the sound goes when you turn the **** to the left while in fader?

theres no F and R indicator... can you check yours?
so the downward arrow means sound goes to the rear? when I turn the **** to the left that makes the downward arrow indicator come on and I hear more sound in the rear. so guess the previous owner did swap it and I swapped it back to original.
turning the dial to the right (clockwise) brings up the upwards cursor and the sound is biased to the front channels in the door speakers.
turning anticlockwise brings the down cursor and the sound is moved to the rear channels.
In stock form its the rear channels that have the bass frequencies cut off below 100Hz, hence why its a cheap mod to swap the front rear channels and send a fuller range signal to the rear 6x9 speakers which are in theory better able to product the bass notes.

Yes my description is the stock Boost audio set up (no amps, no tweeters in a pillars ). So if the wiring is as it left the factory then turning to the right brings sounds to the front, turning anticlockwise moves sound to the rear.
If the wires have been swapped over, or a swap harness fitted, then turning clockwise will still display the upward cursor but the sound will be moving to the rear
