R56 Spray paint to match Pepper White
Spray paint to match Pepper White
Allright... I'm going to be painting and tinting my tail lights on Pepper this weekend and was wondering if anyone has found a spray paint that matches or nearly matches Pepper White. Something by Krylon or other brands that can be bought at Home Depot or Loews.
The parts being painted will be inside the housing and won't need to be weather resistant. Thanks in advance guys!

You can buy PERFECTLY matched paint at most commercial autobody paint sellers (places that mix it for you...bring the cars paint code).....
Rather than get it by the pint, specify a spray can...
I know even waymotorworks had most color paint in rattle cans that matched mini's exactly....
Bought a can from waymotorworks years ago for a few bucks...more than genaric paint, but perfect match.

I need something that I can buy at a brick and mortar store. I also need it to be spray paint since I don't own a paint sprayer. :P
My other option would be to order the color through an online retailer and do it next weekend. :(

all you need is the color code from under the bonnet and these guys will send a spray can of perfect match
BUT
this is base coat of the two part base/clear system ... since you will be using in a protected place you'll probably be OK, but it really should be cleared over . . you can get clear from the same place.

I guess I really should have given detail as to what I'll be doing. I plan on copying calforhelp's tail light setup, but plan on using the original color of the car rather than the matte white he used.

So I ordered the paint from Scratch Wizard for $35 after shipping. I just need to make a run to Home Depot this week to pick up the other tools and sprays that I'll need. Primer, tint, clear coat, and a few other things...
I posted this in another thread, but I finally got around to finishing the left side yesterday. I had a myriad of illnesses that were keeping me from work and my projects over the past two weeks.
I love how this turned out and can't wait to get the right side finished this weekend...

They are slightly dimmer than stock for obvious reasons, but are still more than bright enough during the day time. Keep in mind that I only used 2 layers of tint and I wouldn't recommend going any darker. The can says not to exceed 3 layers, but I've found that 2 layers are more than enough as you can see in the pics. I can try to get some pics of the lights in action during day/night if you'd like...
