Wheel arch fade?

My wheel arch moldings are starting to fade. Been searching and the only thing I'm finding is people using a product called Black Chrome?

Anyone else have other suggestions?

Mothers Back to Black works great! I've used it on both MINI's for two years now.

I used Penetrol on the grey faded arches of my wife's clubman. Made them look like new.

Do some reading here.... http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums...astic-cladding

Forever Black available on Amazon. Brush on with a foam brush. Literally a black plastic dye that leaves no streaks. All the others are temp solutions.

Have used this on motorcycles and cars for a few years with very good results.

OP, go spend some of your time exploring the Detailing 101 section. Just about every car care question you might come up with has already been hashed over then finalized by some of the best detailing gurus around.

If they are really getting bad you can use black liquid shoe polish. You can get it at Wal-Mart for about $2. I think Kwiki is the brand I've used and it comes with a sponge applicator attached to the top.

If you go that route, make sure you get the one marked "shoe (or leather) dye". The regular polish isn't the same. I've been using Meguiar'ß Ultimate Black and it works very well.

Keep in mind that some of these products are silicone oil, like Black Wow. I've used it, and think it works well for a while. Silicone, if you do any painting, is a problem.

Have fun,
Mike

Black Wow, pricey but a little goes a long way. Online only. I used Back to Black too, you can get it at brick and mortar stores.

I'm going to be replacing my fender arches, ECS Tuning sells them for about $60 a piece, I have spent more on products that are supposed to work and last long. The only product I found that actually lasted 9 months was Penetrol. It's what all the Jeep enthusiasts used on their faded wheel arches, it restores fiber glass as well. The only thing I didn't like was it gave off a shine rather than a dark satin look. Comes down to personal tastes, it'll hold up well under storm conditions!

Wheel arches here, if yours are damaged really really bad or pitted like crazy ( dang rocks ), nothing will bring them back all the way, unless you sand and paint them black.

Wheel arches linked here.
