I agree, no ones paying 13-17 for an 07 no matter what.

Sorry guys but in my area 2k7 with low miles are priced in 13-15 range (North Carolina). Regardless, OP there is a lot of great advice on how to enjoy your wife's Mini. Another thing that affects power is gunked up intake valves. Maybe a walnut shell blasting could give back some robbed power as well as help with longevity.

There is a real MINIac in SoCal that added a second engine and drivetrain to his MINI, I don't remember the numbers off the top of my head but he was pulling 0-60 in around 4 seconds. The car still had the GoKart feel but more like the ones where you take the $50 frame and drop a Honda CBR1000RR on to it.

Extreme madness.

Ours had about 68k miles and its pretty well loaded beside nav., they wanted around $14,000 and we gave $12,500 with TTL.

JABowders, that would be really cool! If going that extreme though then I'd just mid engine the thing and make it RWD, how cool would that be?!?

I looked up the Mario DP's... What would stop me from taking my stock DP off and cut the cat out and weld a piece of pipe in place of it? I have access to all the tools needed to do that.

So I'd like to take off the stock DP and cut out the cat and weld a straight through pipe in its place or knock out the cat... Will either route cause the check engine light to come on?

Also whats the best bang for your buck route to go as far as tuning goes for a 2007 MCS?

Yes it will cause a CEL without a tune to turn off the CEL.

A quick search in this forum should answer any of your tuning questions. Battle and Evolve are both options.

Removing the cat will definitely cause a CEL. But most tunes can get rid of this or at least hide it.

You have a N14 engine so you have more options for tunes and can be done through the OBD2 port, some are (random order) .

NM, Evolve, RMW, Manic, Battle/DNA, Renntech

And to add to that group of tuners, PAW/Group4autosports and Smokey's Dyno.

I saw a link to somebody's racing Mini Coupe. They only allow a tune, suspension mods. They replaced many metal body parts with carbon fiber, knocked 220lbs off the weight. Will do 5.5 second 0-60. I don't remember if it's JCW either.

Most likely a JCW, no way would a MCS coupe even get to that with the mentioned products.

That's a helluva "tune" to get almost 300 BHP out of that engine. Beat some seriously expensive cars too.

Not exactly stock except a tune. It has a new FMIC, full exhaust, and probably a tune that won't last long as a DD. but still they did it...

That was on reddit and it is assessed by some to mean 300 crank HP (260ish WHP). This number is very realistic for a 5.5 MCS/JCW. Rafanatic (I think it is his name) has become the poster child for BattleTuning and has posted over 240WHP in a MCS, but with a lot more than just bolt ons. Like it has previously been said, about $1500 can get you sub 6 for sure, but the 5.9-5.5 jump is a very costly one. I know 0-60 is the cool stat, but really, from the dig on this car can pull hard no matter the mods.

I'm wondering the same, I haven't seen a Dyno posted on his build thread, unless he put it somewhere else. And if so, that would be very odd considering there are a few of us that are very curious to see the numbers.

Exactly, I would have seen it. I think he is just saying that to hype it up. No one from Battle has come close to that, in what I've seen. But if indeed he gets to 240whp, congrats to him.

Again, a MCS tuned with bolt on's will NOT get to 5.5 in 0-60. Internals, maybe. This thread should just stop now.

lol. Funny thread....I don't need to hype anything really. I still haven't hit the dyno though. Busy busy and oH YES, busy....

When you wake up at 6am every morning, and don't get home 'til at least 10pm, the last thing I want to do, is work on the MINI. And being married, I spend so little time with the wife, the weekends are really hers.

Until this project is done, then I'll know what I'm putting down, but for now, it's anyones' guess at this point. Good luck guys.

On regular 18" Hankook street tires I got 3 5.0's and finally got a 4.9 and this was before my meth kit and Big Valve Head. My GP2 will never be a 0-60 or 1/4 mile car, but I was happy with the end results. Its some ways, making a FWD car have more power and torque can cause to the car to have slower times, because of the fine line of spinning the wheels or bogging it. I'm looking forward to see how my new 2016 JCW CountryMan will do on a 0-60, after I do my typical DP, meth, tune, larger turbo, ported manifold, intercooler and big valve head. Anything in the 5's will make me happy.
