Quoted 4,000 + USD for JCW aero kit installed?

Last yesar after I bought my car the only items I wanted from the JCW was the aero kit. I decided to spend about 5500 on mods(some listed in my sig and other carbon fiber odds and ends not listed in my sig).

Tax time is coming up as well as a work bonus so I decided to call my dealer to get a quote for the 2013 JCW aero package. Miguel at Braman Mini in Palm Beach Florida quoted me 2250 for the unpainted kit, another 1,000 for install, and another 1000 for paint.

Did everyone pay this much money for this kit that has a cooper S? This is without PDC option as well.

I got quoted $1,400 with just the side skirts alone with paint, and install. I was like...

No thanks, I'd rather spend that money towards a splitter and other exterior parts.

Good luck though, it won't be cheap that's for sure!

I've been going piece by piece. Not cheaper but affordable. You will pay at least $1500 for the complete kit, plus where ever it is shipped from and that will add up to a bit since the stuff is big and bulky. I bought all the parts a la carte which is more costly than buying the complete kit. I've paid just under $500 for each bumper to be painted on separate occasions. A lot, but the match is great and the work exceptional. I have installed the rear myself, along with the underbody panels and GP2 diffuser, and will be installing the front this weekend along with the retrofit brake vent kit. That is not hard to do. This is all on my 08. I don't know if I'm going to pop for the side skirt\rockers or not.

That's fine. 1500 is still high but I could go to sleep at night paying that much for plastic. I was under the impression these bumpers and panels could be ordered painted from the factory for an exact match. I feel somewhat confident to install the kit myself having access to a hydro lift.

Color used to be available and there still might be some out there from MINI, not sure. If there is, it is of just a couple colors and I believe they are what is still on the shelf. I've been told they don't paint anymore, everything comes primed. Both Sewellparts.com and ECStuning have great pricing on the kits from what I can see, very competitive.

Sorry but I can't stand even trying to figure out how to use the ECStuning's website. It only lets you select up to 2011 year and 2012 for sewellparts.com. I'll be happy when car part sites stop using that broken search tool that never displays all their products. Ever see ecstuning display an ad on this site and you click the link? It takes you to a page where you have to put in make, year, model, and only lets you select JCW trim. I could figure out a rubiks cube before I get to where I want to go on that site. I believe its been stated as a fact the 2013 JCW front lip spoiler is different from 2010-2012 as it's 3 pieces. I definately want a 2013 version obviously.

If you have a 2013, then whatever part you get will be for LCI as they call it. '11 on is the refresh year with the N18. Long distance I can't help you with the navigation to much but those site are all trying to narrow down what part is it is you want for the car you own. But if you are interested, call em. Both ECS and Sewell still use the phone. Have the last 7 digits of your VIN handy and they can get you hooked up, pretty positive. Do it! You MINI will love you for it!

I paid about $1600 for the aerokit (from ecstuning) and about $800 for the paint/install. I was getting quotes from $1200 - $2000 for the latter part, but did some searching and found a local body shop that ultimately did a fantastic job.

Just send ECS a message, they'll get you what you want.

I just finished ordering the front parts for the kit, previously I have done the rear and sides. I've ordered all the parts from ECS Tuning and had a local shop paint and installed it myself (very straight forward). Parts are ~$2000 delivered and about $1000 for paint. So it cost me about $3k.

Which is the reasonable ball park from what I've figured.

About 18 months ago, I had ordered the full kit, pre-painted, from Sewell Parts, for my Clubman. Installed it myself (took my time, not hard) in my home garage (no need to jack up the car). Can't remember the price, but I bought it at discount price (about 15%) and they had a free shipping promo at the time.

For that much I could buy a used R53 with bolt ons and wouldn't care if I rolled it 10 times at the track

Sounds you got the perfect combination of discounts and inquiring at the right time from the right company.
