Catless downpipe added a lot of top end for me. it was a great upgrade,i could definitely feel the difference. but i also had the 2nd cat and resonator delete and going with a catless downpipe made my exhaust so loud and obnoxious it was unbearable. i went to advanced and put in a glasspack and now my car has a very nice tone to it. but be warned anyone going catless that has already messed with the factory exhaust will regret the sound.
How bad was the sound? Is it low when idle and loud at WOT or loud the whole time? I'm just wondering bc I'm going evolve catless and I have res and 2nd cat delete. I kinda like loud exhausts except when they sound like a Honda...
You're telling me? There were like 2 full pages of jb+ talk... Smh. This thread is pretty much resolved.. just get the jb+ it's awesome and reliable and at or near 200hp. What more do you want???
Yah, my Z3 was too fast so I sold it. Now I have a mini and the first thing i want to do is make it faster. Oh, there is a real life magic bullet that gets me exactly what I asked for? Problem solved. :-)
I am looking to get honest feedback from those that have installed this fairly new modification... and are sentenced to have to use ethanol blended fuel .

you dont have to use ethanol blended fuel....if you can find it, you can use pure gasoline.
its just that the majority of gasoline has 10% ethanol already added to it....so assuming you already buy your gas at a regular gas station, you dont have to do anything different.
the JB+ was designed to run off regular pump gas (10% ethanol)....you just have to use 91 or greater octane fuel.

I'll be taking mine off for a trip to the dealer (oil change) and I'll do a 0-60 for comparison. Currently with it I'm consistently getting 6.5 sec, same stretch of road same ambient conditions, etc.

I'm lucky enough to have 93 octane by me.
If your using the torque app to measure your times don't ever get hold of a VBOX it'll break your heart by about half a second flat !

OK, I'll continue to beat this dead horse a little more.
What's so bad about ethanol? If you have access to E85, you can mix up to 30% with regular (10%) gas, crank up the JB+ a little and make more power! I'm confused by your statement. You haven't read the BMS thread, have you?
unfortunately no choice in fuel . We only have 10% ethanol gas here in the Midwest (politics). I searched for the BMS thread with no results . Im glad to here this runs fine on our crappy gas though .

I'm using DashCommand not Torque but probably the get about the same results. I'd love to get a hold of a VBOX for a few runs - I could use it to calibrate the app. Terry@BMS did some VBOX runs and IIRC he was getting 6.4 times with the pot set at 7 (you'd have to dig through the BMS thread).
The apps are really good for relative change not necessarily absolute.
