I can tell you that removing the 2nd cat and resonator makes more sound than stock and gives a good amount of pop and gurgle which I love. Mines and 2007 and Stage 1 on the AP. I tried a couple of other exhaust and never liked the drone they have. The MINI's exhaust had two different tones coming out of each side of the exhaust tips which I just found out like 2 week ago.

I'll put a video up when I get the chance.

Hey guys, great news. I went to an exhaust shop here in Miami. I ended up caving in and getting the 2nd cat along with the resonator deleted. All I can say is that I love the results and the car sounds like it has a new system. I am completely satisfied as it cost me all of $80! Wondering how it's going to sound with a catless dp though lol

Will removing the 2nd cats cause any check engine light to come on?

Nope. Just polluting the air we breathe;-). You'll be fine. I've had mine off for about four months now.

Yup Definitely lots of burble and stuff. Here's a video of my 2007 MCS with No 2nd cat and resonator.
The video isn't great, but gets the point.
