I checked yesterday and the website is still down. Hopefully everything is great for Rich and he is taking the necessary time to get well. I really want one of these wings but will patiently wait for it.

Guys,

its very sad news, Rich passed away a few weeks ago :( please see the Orranje facebook. I was honoured to carry him into the funeral - a true friend I will always miss

As an update Orranje is back up and running with the old partners as it used to be with Oli at the fore front, the web shop is being launched now (ish) - 20 spoilers have just been sold and there is another 20 being made right now. Contact Orranje and they will be able to help you out

Orranje is back and will continue to deliver the quality and service it has been known for

I would love to get one of these rear wings/spoilers. WMW does have one that looks very similar to the Orranje. But $700 ouch.
Has anyone (in the last year or so) ordered it from Orranje and had it shipped over??
Are there others out there? The Fubrication one looks pretty good but do they still sell it?

I ordered mine end of Apr this year and it came 1st week of June with the blade painted to match the roof. Spent about $560 which included the rivnut tool and shipping. Haven’t had a chance to put it on yet...too hot in Cali right now.

I like that Orranje sends it painted and can match the color of the roof

Not sure if the FUbrication is still available, but I’ve seen a few used ones, and one never installed, for sale here on NAM in the last few years. I would contact them to see if there are any leftovers from the additional production runs they did on Indigogo after they were no longer available.

There are others on eBay, but I’m not sure what the quality is like. The Orranje spoiler has always seemed to be the best one in terms of quality, fit and finish, and is what I would go with if I replaced my spoiler.

Here some pros and cons with the FUbrication in my opinion.

Pros:
  • The side fins are separate from the uprights and can be left off. (I thought it looked better without them)
  • Plain uprights without the decorative triangular embossing. (Pro because I preferred the simpler look)
  • Was shipped and sold in the US so no customs fees or high shipping costs.

Cons:
  • Work needed to get an OEM fit and finish. (Amount depends on your level of quality)
  • My blade was wavy out of the box. (I “temporarily” wrapped mine with white vinyl... 5 years later it’s still wrapped )
  • The uprights also needed some finish work. (I used some glazing putty and sprayed them with SEM satin black trim paint)
  • The upright brackets don’t fit the hatch very well and have a homemade look to them. The triangular “ears” on the Orranje look like a professionally designed and finished product. The FUbrication instructions call for washers to fill the gap between the brackets and hatch frame. (I used nylon spacers cut down to size)
  • The side fins glue on over the blade mounting screws. This could be a problem to adjust the wing angle or disassemble the spoiler.
  • Plain uprights without the decorative triangular embossing are a con if you want a more accurate GP replica.
  • No covers are provided for the OEM spoiler holes on a first gen MINI. Orranje include dome vinyl covers and one of the eBay wings includes replica JCW finned covers. (I bought JCW covers when they were still available)

That looks great!

Interested in seeing some pics when it’s mounted. I’ve been thinking of wrapping the blade red to tie in with my windshield banner and mirror caps.

Installed today! Good quality product and fairly easy install. Great service too, I needed a replacement part and Orranje was helpful right away.

Never great to drill into the little Mini but I drilled away. Pics below.

It is a thing. Just not an inexpensive thing.

Shipping is expensive and you will need to figure out what you are going to do about the two holes OR one of the other spoilers.

Tweedbean I used your r53 video to ensure I mounted my wing correctly. Super happy with how it turned out. THANKS.
