Thinking about picking up a SGII

I assume it's just plug & play? I just have to find a good spot to mount it since I want it for the temps so I'll probably leave it plugged in.

I know there was a lot of talk of oil temps on the forums from multiple searches... if I was to order one today, would it come with the oil temp programmed in or would I need to do that after the fact still? '13 MCS.

It's plug and play.

It has to be mailed back to SG (Linear Logic) for the Mini updates,. The most useful for me is Engine Oil Temps. (Free to have them do it and ship it back).

I use;
Volts
Engine Oil Temp
Coolant Temp
AFR/MAP

I got a Craven mount as well.

I think WayMotors sells them pre-updated for the Mini.

Does it matter where the original purchase was made? I want to install mine that I used on my previous Tacoma. I will check out Craven Speed for that Mount, being that's what has been holding me up on installation...

Maybe I'll look into getting it from Way Motors. Id hate to buy one just to have to ship it back to get it working for the MINI. Pricing seems consistent across the board from what I've seen.

The 4 you have listed are the exact 4 I want.

I thought about mounting it on the left of the tach against the dash.

Pretty sure they don't care/does not matter.

Agreed, but for me... The left most two are blocked by the wheel. I have to move my head to view them... So I keep EOT and ECT on the right of the gauge.

Yes, plug and play, and very easy to set up. I have a Countryman, and mine is velcroed to the top of the dash, near the lower left corner of the windshield. It gives me quick access to data (right now, volts, coolant temp, intake temp, and instant MPG, but I'm going to send it in so I can read oil temp.).

It is plug and play, except you do not get the extra MINI-specific gauge options. Mine has been quite useful to me so far, but it would be nice to see some more info like the oil temp.

Wait, so you can mail it in to get MINI-specific options? Interesting. I have one that was a gift, that came generic from Amazon.

Yup, all for free... You just pay for shipping it to them.

Yes that is correct the scangauges we sell are preprogrammed with the oil temp, A/F so you don't have to pay to have is shipped to be programmed.

but if you already have one Scangauge will add the new programming for free if you pay the shipping no matter who you buy it from.

What's you're average turn-around for shipping them out with the programming on it once the order is placed. I DEFINITELY want the oil temp, and I'm entirely to impatient to buy from someone and then ship to you haha. Rather buy from you.

just got the torque android app and a cheap BT obd2 plug in from amazon
Amazon.com: AGPtek® Super Mini ELM327 V1.5 Bluetooth OBD2 OBD-II CAN-BUS Auto Diagnostic Scanner Tool: Automotive Amazon.com: AGPtek® Super Mini ELM327 V1.5 Bluetooth OBD2 OBD-II CAN-BUS Auto Diagnostic Scanner Tool: Automotive
for 12 bucks. Recognized instantly on my phone via BT. I haven't had a chance to play with it too much, but I don't think it has oil temp. A lot of other info, and it can read and clear codes.
If this doesn't work to my expectations, I will get the SC2.
