Vibration after lowering :( new cv time

alright so i hit the unlucky mini lottery. lowered my mini and now i have the crappy shuttering and vibration. From what i've read it's a passenger side cv problem so i'm looking at replacing the passenger axle. does anyone have any recommendations on a brand? or a way of fixing this i don't know about?> thanks in advance. Pics for clicks.

From the pics I would say the vibration is from not using tires when driving. LMAO. Stock CV's seem to be the best route IMO.

Stock is the best. I've tried others, and always end up going back to stock.

I once stumbled on a thread/post here about vibration when lowered. You might find answer there on why you are having vibration. I get those vibration on 1st and 2nd gear when driving off and from what i read its the trade off of lowering your car. If you find a fix pls. share it here.

OBTW install hubcentric on those wheels to remove some vibration coming from the wheels.

install hubcentric
We all will assume he needs hubcentric centering rings on the hubs of his rims if they are not the right bore size. OP you need to find out the bore size fo your rims and then get rings to match.

Note that lowering can change your wheel alignment, so you'll need to have it checked and perhaps adjusted accordingly. I'm not saying that this is the cause of your vibration, but you never know.

The first question is how many miles on your MINI and/or the CV joints? If you've passed 25-30K before lowering, the CV joints are worn in at the stock height and angle. You are now running the joints at a different angle and will feel a vibration. Some have replaced them and some have just waited out the joints to wear-in at the new angle. Your choice.

i've heard this before, but also heard that this is bogus because that would mean that anytime you took a hard turn and changed the angle of the axle you would experience this same vibration. and that never happened before I lowered my car.

Now my only concern is, if i go buy a new passenger side axle, what are my chances of getting another axle that is slightly too long and causing this problem. Has anyone ever replaced their passenger side axle and still had this problem?

SHITTY! I have the same problem. I am the guy who slams all cars and I also can't now. Been driving stock height for 6 Months now. I had to sell H&R Coils. I even want to sell the car because of this. Appearantly there is not real fix for this. I am reading forums all day for like 6 months. I am going to buy a set of ST's and go down until i get a little vibration.

everything i've read points to the passenger side axle being too long on some mini's. the doesn't mess with the angle of the cv, but compresses the cv in on itself. causing the shutter. so instead of selling your car just buy a new passenger side axle. that's what i've gathered but it could be wrong
