how can I tell what packages came with the car?
I recently purchased a 2009 base cooper. Is there a way to tell what packages came with the car from the factory? (Sport, Premium, etc...) Can you tell that from the VIN number? I would like to know just for curiosity.
Also, I see a phone and a speaker button on the steering wheel. Does that mean the car has Bluetooth?... because I'm not able to find it. When I hit the "Menu" button, I don't get the blue tooth option. So may be they just put those buttons there to fill in the space but not necessarily give you Bluetooth unless you buy a certain Package?

I bought my 2012MCS about a month ago. I went to check on getting another key (I only have one) and to see what service it needed. It was up to date on service and they wanted $473.59 for a key. OUCH! I haven't ordered one yet in case anybody knows a cheaper way to go???? They ran the vin for me. Handed me a printout of every single toy on the car. Someday, I hope to learn how to use them all. They just stuck the key in their little box and the whole thing printed in a jiffy. It was far more detailed than the window sticker I found in the glove box. You might to run over to your dealer and have them check your vin # through their box.

Minibx, not sure I can help but my MCS came with Xenon lights, white turn signal lights and fog lights. The printout sheet, from the dealer, for my car lists these in the "Order Options" column. The "Lights package" is listed under the Series Options column. So either my lights are the light package, broken down into specifics or the light package includes more than these three things. Only the Zenon lights (additional $500) and the White turn-signal lights (additional $100) are listed on the widow sticker, not the fog lights. I'm not toally sure of the difference between the order options and the series options lists. I know for sure my car has all of the things listed in the order options. I'm not sure it has all the things from the series option list but it does have some of them and some of them are different. Series option interior says "Interior world carbon black" Order Options say "Interior surfaces piano black" and "Chrome line interior", I don't know the difference. Are you really confused now? I've only had the car a little less than a month and I haven't figured it all out just yet. My window sticker does say "optional equipment may supercede standard equipment, check with your authorized Mini dealer."
2012 MCS, Spiced Orange Metallic, "Punkin", lots of toys, lots of fun.
