Akrapovic downpipe & CEL Delete Module

Has anyone tried tried the Akrapovic downpipe and CEL Delete Module yet? I have a 2009 MCS and I am planning on installing these in the next week or so and I am wanting to know if the module works the way it should. I want to make these changes before I buy the Accessport. Any insight would be appreciated.

Way has told me that he hasn't had any complaints. I'm interested as well.

To add: I'm not sure what code(s) it will remove. I have P0136 and P0141.

Those codes are related to o2 sensor thinking it has been disabled, as opposed to an o2 sensor that is reading a less efficient cat (e.g., P0420), correct?

Do you have the o2 sensor spaced out at all?

Yes because of a lack of length of the wiring, which I may have to end up extending.

Just added it (see list of mods). About a week later I had a CEL. Cleared it and haven't seen it yet. We'll see....

Are you running the DP without anything to address a CEL (e.g., spacers, tune)?

Well, I ordered the Akrapovic downpipe w/cat and the Delete R. Way said they do work, so I am going to trust him.

As a heads up, the Big Daddy Mini Cat does not work as it still throws P0136 and P0141 because the O2 sensor is too far away from the DP itself.

Thanks for the update. That's too bad. Have you tried a single 18mm non-fouler?

I'm sorry for not answering sooner. I also have the Akrapovic Delete R installed. I do NOT have a tune (don't want to crater my warranty quite yet). About a week after the DP/VIP DP back exhaust/Delete R install (9 Nov) I got a CEL vis-a-vis the cat converter. The shop reset it and I have had the CEL only pop up twice more, and then go off a couple minutes later. I had called Way just before the reset and he said a few customers had to reset once or twice. He also said that he couldn't guarantee its use on the N18 engine and said his website indicated as much but I couldn't find it (I have screenshots). Akrapovic's site only mentions 07+ MCS. I'm thinking that the computer has to get used to the Delete R. I could be wrong, but so far so good.

I have Both the Akropovic DP,exhaust and delete-R I also have a N18. I have 8,000 miles since install. Have never had a light come on. But I have a scangauge II and every once in a while I'll get a pending code P0420 that clears itself in a few miles.

The mini cat is not much bigger than an anti-fouler, so I suspect it wouldn't matter. I'm going to give it a try though.

Jkapinos, when I had my CEL cleared the first time that was the code. Since then I get a CEL once every week and a half or so which clears itself after about 5 miles. For the deep base sound, I can live with it!

Hey Everyone,

Sorry to bring this thread up again, but did anyone figure out a way to get rid of the P0141 code? I have tried the Akrapovic Delete-R (I have the Akrapovic DP on the car), but that only got rid of the P0420 code. I have also had a mechanic replace the O2 sensor, and tried spacing the sensor out. Any other suggestions? What worked for you guys? Thanks so much!

Hi everyone:

I've got JCW air box and muffler on my 08 MCS for quite some time; also replaced both O2 sensors less than a year ago. I recently got very consistent popups of P0141 cell code associated with near empty gas tank (starting at about 4 ticks on the scale). It would go away after about 30 miles of driving on a full tank. My guess is that it probably has something to do with tank fuel pressure; probably the gas cap or the tank pressure sensor/regulator needs replacement. Does anyone here actually have to go through with this, and know of a probable cause of this issue? Any suggestion where to start without huge spending is certainly appreciative.

Thank you,

Jeff
