Selling my 2011 S Hardtop BRG II

Ive decided to try and sell my MINI S privately. Dealer would only offer me $19k for my car which is insane. I want $27k for it - i know thats the price they would try to get for it. It only has 23000 miles, and is in pristine condition.

I want the new roadster.

You are asking A LOT. What options does it have? I recently bought my 2012 JCW for $33700 new with only a few options (sunroof, HK stereo, cold weather, xenon and white turn signals). Expensive options don't really help with resale. You also can't expect to get dealer retail as a private seller.

You got an awesome deal on a JCW! We configd a 2013 roadster and it was more than 33 with not much options.

I paid MSRP less the recent $750 takedown promotion. It was just the same deal that anybody could have gotten. If your dealer is charging more than MSRP go elsewhere. The coupes are a little more than Hardtops though, right?

The higher mileage is going to be a large factor in your re-sale. Also, as KHD mentioned, some of those options won't help re-sale...i.e. nav is usually an expensive one that doesn't really up your value. What options do you have that brought your price up so high? I'm sure it must be a great car with what you have in it, but I can't blame you for wanting the roadster. My wife and I were at the dealer yesterday and she was really wondering why we didn't just get one of them instead of the hardtop. I had to remind her that it wasn't even out when we got our 2010 Hardtop.

Brian, I think $27k is even an optimistic dealer retail price. There is no dealer in the world that pays over clean retail for used cars. The dealership I work for just took a 2011 MCS in trade, with HID's, Nav, panorama roof, heated seats, with only 18k miles and we gave him $18,900.00 for it. ($18,900.00 is KBB average trade value) And this MCS was super clean, all we had to do was wash it and put it out for sale. If you want retail sell it on your own.

I'm confused. From your previous post:

I pick it up next Wednesday. It's coming from another dealers lot.

I'm super excited!!!
Far as I can tell, this car would be approximately $28,000 for a brand new 2013 MCS at MSRP. I wish you the best in getting $27,000.

KBB seems to be showing about $20 for this car trade in. Try Carmax....chances are you will get a little higher offer. $27 is really high for a car with 23k miles on it....That is what we paid when we bought our new Copper S.
