Brakes Sticking for a few seconds?

First off if I am in the wrong section I am sorry. I have a 2012 MCS w/ manual transmission. I have had it about a month. I noticed that when I stop completely on a slight incline and I take my foot off the brake the car does not immediately sart to roll backwards maybe a 2-3 second delay. Is that normal? Just thought I would ask here before I call the dealership.

thanks for any help.

i suggest that you read the owners manual, you will find that this is normal, it is called "hill assist" or some such catchy name

there is a lot of information about your car in the om

No need to feel silly, there is tons of stuff in there the average driver wouldn't notice or know how to work. But yeah RTFM

Thanks! I will try that...

Just a little story- I was test driving another car at the MINI dealership not long ago. It was a manual transmission and my salesperson warned me of a large hill that I would have to stop/start on. She asked me if I wanted her to do it. I refused, saying I had been driving stick all my life, it's no problem. She insisted that I didn't know how to start on a hill just because I had hill assist on my MINI...

Okay Yetti, I get it, I get it, RTFM - so glad my children won't see this casue I would never hear the end of it. Unfortunately, everytime I start to read the thing, I end up going to my car kind of following along with the manual and well you know once I get in it I need to drive it. Geeze, I know, I am just like a little kid. Never thought at my age I would be so tickled about a car.

RedandBlack - now that I know what it is (my bad) maybe it won't be as annoying or at least I won't wonder if I was imagining something. Your car really looks tight.

Tried this last night on my 2009, both with limited DSC and DSC off, and the hill assist still was active.
