I installed a parrot ipod B/T unit, I tied it into the cigsrette lighter wiring. It worked great. After a week it would just stop working at random and then restart. Then finally it will not work at all. After removing the parrot unit any device I plug into the lighter will not work(but the LED on the plug still works). The fuse is still good at the fuse box. When I check the lighter wiring, under any load the voltage drops to zero. The outlet in the rear works fine. Any suggestions?

 

Have you confirmed all the wiring back to the fuse block?
Have you confirmed electrical continuity through the fuse block to the grounding point for the lighter?
Sounds like a loose connection more than anything since a short-to-ground issue would have caused a fuse to pop.

Thanks for the feed back. The wiring back to the ground and fuse will be my next project.
