I figured pipe with heat sink > pipe without heat sink. Especially in the hose going into the intercooler. It probably doesn't help much, but if it helps a little it's worth the $40. Installation went slick as a whistle.
I have a 2008 MCS. It says 9" long, while most people do 8". Does it fit properly and with the factory clamps? Also, are the fins not in the way of other parts?

The extra inch didn't seem to cause any issues.
Yes it fits with the factory clamps.
No, the fins do not interfere with anything else in there. They are slightly less diameter than the oem muffler. And no need to worry about the lack of bracket to the radiator. There is very little movement in the hose once its all back together.
