Damn cant decide on OEM wheels!!

Basically Im stuck between the 17in R98 Black Web spokes with the silver rim and the black R121 conicals. These are going on a EG MCS. I honestly cant decide and it would help tons to hear from you all. Thanks!

PS - I looked everywhere and cant find out how much the conicals weigh so if you know, please post!! Im guessing 22lbs like the web spokes so no help there if true!

you could always go the cheap route, then buy even better aftermarket for the cost...

I too suggest getting the cheapest OEM option of the same diameter you want to end up with and then buying aftermarket wheels.

Now.... if you want me to chime in on your original question, I'll need some pictures.

I'm probably the worst person to chime in on this issue, but I do agree that aftermarket will save you some cash, and give you 100 x's more options. As to the issue of black wheels, that's an automatic fail! My reasons for my opinion on that are multiple. I see no reason to "upgrade" your wheels, and then have them be black, only to get visually lost in the fender wells. Black, fenders, black tires, and black wheels, just get visually sucked into a black hole! I've seen thousands of different threads over the years of people posting their wheels on forums, only to look at the pictures, and have the definition of the face design just disappear in a picture. It's not much different in real life. The second reason is that black wheels are beyond played out IMO. Been done thousands of different ways, and each time the result is the same, meh. If you want to upgrade your wheels, why not have them stand out. If not, just roll on stockers and save a ton of cash. My $.02

I agree to the fact that Black wheels are super played out. Even worse are black with a polished lip.

I'd go with silver R98's - I recently switched from S-Lites to the Web Spokes and love them!

Personally, I like black wheels, but they do not go well with every car. I wanted something other than an OEM wheel. My wife has 18" black JCW R118s on her Horizon Blue MCS.

For my Astro Black MCS, I chose Kyowa Evolve wheels (18x8, +45 offset).

I ordered the black conical spoke wheels with my PW 11 MCS and it came in with the silver conical spoke wheels. Once the dealership realized they ordered incorrectly, the offer to switch them out for the black wheels. My wife liked the silver better, so we took it as a sign and stuck with the silver wheels. I still like the look of black wheels, but agree they are getting to be a little too common these days. I am pleased with decision to stick with silver, as they really look sharp when the are clean and free of brake dust. On another note, the conical spokes are pretty easy to clean, something that isn't true of more intricate web designs.

thanks for the replies. the plan is that im going to wait for the car to come in next week with the black web spokes and if i dont like them, ill try to switch to either black or silver conicals (whichever one they have) to save a few hundred for aftermarket ones. ill def post pictures with the web spokes just for reference on the forum seeing that i can only find silver ones installed.
