R56 New contest.... free tinted taillights.
New contest.... free tinted taillights.
So here’s the deal. For the first person that can guess within 500 miles of my mileage on April 22nd, they will win a free “tint job” for their taillights.
I can make the taillights as light or dark as you want.
Here’s mine to get an idea. (though they look dark, the light comes through perfectly)

One clue... bought the car new in 2009. Winner is responsible for shipping to and from.
This contest will be posted in the first generation also.
Good luck,
Mark

You know, those look awesome. But they scare me. I have been hit twice in my Mini. Both times in the rear. I want to be as bright and attention getting as I can be. Even a good driver paying attention can have trouble seeing brake lights in the right (wrong for you) conditions. Late afternoon, you are running west into a setting sun that's just low enough that the visor doesn't help. Time for an ice creme at the Dairy Queen up on the left. Put the blinker on and slow a bunch waiting for the traffic to clear. **BANG*
I know I may be viewed as a potential jerk for posting this in here. I just can't help myself. I am a safety and health manager. Ok, I specialize in chemicals, but they expect us to be well rounded here. Anyway, at worst treat my post as a disclaimer. I only speak up now to ward off the weight of guilt later.
Again, they look cool as ****. I think they would jam on Percy. Dark silver and tinted lights. Nice.
If I could compensate with LEDs for brighter effect......

It's all cool. No offense taken. However, though I don't have a pic in front of me at the moment, you'd be surprised how translucent the tint we use is.
There is no denying it does cut down the visibility but not much IMO. I'm with you about being seen. I ride a motorcycle and know all too well what it's like to have people crawl up your behind because you're not visible.
Having said that, yes, there is some diminishment to the visibility but it's so negligible IMO that it's worth it.
