Hey you in the m3 suck it!

A Guy in a purple m3 was laughing and pointing at me on the freeway. Have no idea why. IMO I think my car is a lot cooler and about 50k cheaper. Anyone else ever get laughed at?

Nope. Must be a CA thing.
The guy isn't worth getting upset about.

If the guy was actually laughing at your car, he is nothing short of an
a_ _ hole and probably is a jerk to go along with the a hole title.

Huh? I was going to say he probably has a small *****, but I think it goes way beyond that.

Edit for clarification: Someone laughing at anther's choice in car would normally seem like he is overcompensating. Especially from the seat of a car that also might indicate that. But to choose a color that invites ridicule itself (by the small minded) makes this more complex.

IDK, but I laugh when I see anybody that drives a Pontiac Aztec... Really? An Aztec? Maybe the ugliest vehicle ever produced.... What were you thinking?

OP, Maybe the other guy was listening to Richard Pryor or some other comedy.

Did you ever consider that maybe he was laughing at you and not the MINI?

I laugh at anyone driving a Juke, but I don't point. That would be rude.

(Juke-R would be sweet though.)

I giggle inside whenever I see some short guy driving a jacked-up 3500HD truck... and there are a lot of them around here! I almost feel sorry for them - they just won't know the joys of driving a small, fast, direct car.

Your location says San Jose. I doubt it was because of your MINI because they are so common in the Bay Area, and he probably sees dozens of MINI's every day. An amazing number of M3's around here too. They coexist.

Yeah that and the $200.00 fill-ups every 2-3 days.

BMW, Mercs, Porsche in Cali are the Ford, Chevy, and Dodges everywhere else! How many "status" drivers do you know? More importantly, how many of them there actually own their statusmobiles or are they leveraged to the hilt with debt up to their eyebrows? Laugh all they may! The M3 is a very fine car, but if someone is making fun of another without, it means they don't appreciate what they're driving and purchased merely to look a part. Yours cost half the amount for just the same (if not more) fun and your status is guaranteed as a genuine motorist by all other MINI pilots. I say laugh right back and point at the poser... Probably going to wind up broke in an old beater Yugo anyway

My first car was an Aztek. I sold it a few months ago after I bought my MINI. I loved that thing, super reliable for me, was very comfortable, and had a great interior. I wish I could have kept them both.

I don't know about that... I think the Reliant Robin takes the taco on that one... Now there's a vehicle that can make a Gremlin parked next to it look as sexy as a Veyron... A car only Medusa would have loved to own.

I think he saw a reflection of his car in yours and just realized he's driving around in a Barney-colored car. Who chooses purple for the M3!?

You never know. I drive a Ram 2500 with a level lift and 33's (and I'm short). There are some things the MINI just plain can't do. I'll say that I don't feel safe driving the Dodge, though. If I have to make a quick lane change or stop in a hurry, it's not going to be like in the MINI. So I stay in the right lane, and mind the speed limit.

this guy just has a low self esteem that is it. He is very ignorant and probably has small ***** disorder. I can't make fun of his car because it is an m3, but damn he gives m3 drivers bad names. Lets just ignore all the ignorant people that think MINIs are a joke, and know that they are the most fun cars anyone can own.

Not exactly laughed at, but one time I was parked (head in) in front of a store. A huge truck pulled up and doubled parked behind me. One of the 2 girls in the truck ran out to do something, and I went back to the car waiting for the truck to move. After a while, the girl in the truck yelled to the other girl, "Hurry up, so this guy could move his little car out."

I say screw 'em. I've got the ///M badge on the back of my r56, I've had many an M driver get all huffy puffy about it, until they realize I payed about half what they did, and still got to 60 first.

I understand where you're coming from though, its never a good feeling to be 'laughed at.' After enough times, though, you get used to it. I've been on a mission the past 3 years here to shut up all the STI's, Evo's, SRT's, and douchey M drivers. Long story short it's worked, nobody in their right mind disses my car around here anymore.

Don't let it get to you. After all, as several people have mentioned, his car is purple.

Some people make fun, others become =O when they realize they can't out pull me (on the drag strip). I impress people more than I get made fun of. Usually made fun of are people I know, who always take it back after I take them for a ride.

Once, I walked out of autozone and these two rednecks in a lifted ford ranger with mud tires on it were staring at my car parked next to them. They saw me walking towards the car so they jumped into their truck. Since the lot is empty, he tries to go forward to leave, but doesn't realize there is a yellow concrete pole right in front of his spot... because his truck was lifted the pole only came up to his front grill out of his line of sight. ::SMACK:: He quickly turns red once he realizes what happened, and backs up and leaves quickly. It was a perfectly straight/shiny chrome bumper, with a now semi circle stained with yellow outlined in it. Made my day.
