Weird Question

OK...I bought my '08 MCS used for a BMW dealer. They gave me a printout that didn't mention that the car had leather lounge seats. When to the Mini dealer, and asked them and they said for sure...leather lounge seats. So here's the question. It had (just replace them) web spokes which from what I understand, comes with the Sports package. Is there a way to tell if I do have the sports package? This car has every other option, but Nav, so I'm thinking it must, but I'd like to know for sure. Is there a part that just comes on the Sports Package that I can look to see if I have?

Not sure what the "sports package" contains, but mine has a "SPORT" button by the gear shift, which turns it on and off. Makes a significant difference in performance.

Package adds:

Sport alternate suspension, sport seats, 17" wheels, Dynamic Stability Control AND either Black or White bonnet stripes. (don't quote me on the stripes).

Ah..so DSC for sure? I don't have that. I'm curious because of the suspension, but I plan on replacing anyway.

It's part of the complete package, but doesn't mean you didn't get the rest of it but not the DSC as they'd been added as separate add-ons vs. actual package. I have an 08 MCS with the sport package and DSC was part of it.

Thanks! It feels like I have the suspension since with the run flats it feels like my fillings are coming loose:-) Is there something about the suspension that looks different?

This has nothing to do with the Sport Package, it is Standard Issue on all MINIs 2007+!!

2008 MC w/Sport Package...Sport Seats, Bonnet Stripes, "beefed up" Suspension, and 16" Wheels were the options I ordered when I ordered Molly!!

Mine had 17s. Can you have the sports package with lounge seats?

I'm pretty sure you can get the LL with the sport package.

It is not the "Seat Coverings" and not necessarily "Sport Seats" either, those could have been ordered seperate as well...it is when "ALL" items in "Package" are installed. Most important is the "Sport Suspension"...don't remember off the top of my head if it could be ordered separate like it can today.

The Lounge Leather seats are a separate item not part of any package. As far as the Sport Package, or any other package for that matter, all the features are all available separately. The packages simply put 3 or 4 popular features into a package at a slightly discounted price. For example, my MCS is pretty loaded with all four packages (Premium, Convenience, Sport and Cold Weather) and I have the LL seats. Had I ordered each item that came in those packages, my MSRP would have been about $1200 more. Remember, MINI is about Youification, so there are thousands, if not more, potential combinations of packages and options. I suspect if you gave MINI the VIN, they could tell you what came on your MINI.

Look at your rear struts, mine have a big label that says "SPORT" on them.

Send Mike an email, he has helped alot of other NAM members with their cars as far as what all the car came with. Give him your VIN and he will email you back the details.

+1 on Mike. Fantastic amount of info you will receive. You'll know
ever option your car came with. He just needs the last 7 digits.
