R56 Official R56 TROUBLE FREE MILES thread
At 9500 miles, I had a tire go flat on me. Something punctured it.
Found a grooved brake rotor when I changed it, probably something got stuck in there for a little while.
The dealer is doing the service campaign for the coolant temp sensor.
They found a leaking solenoid on the oil pump (?) and are replacing it and the wiring harness that the oil has contaminated.
They're replacing the sun visor mirror covers, because the hinges broke. (No surprise there.)
And Fenimore should even be getting an oil change!

I've got 75xxx miles clocked on my '10 MCa and my only unscheduled dealer visit was for a faulty DTML pump (evap system) 4-5k ago.
Of course, I've had a couple other incidents, but not the fault of the car. There was a deer that wanted a closer look on a dark night (kept her off the road for the better part of a month) and I've had a couple windshields replaced, both covered by my insurance.
As far as I'm concerned my MINI is THE best car I've ever owned.

Over 42,000 trouble free miles for me. She was a champ for the long drive from Dallas to Boston. I've gone through one set of tires and front brakes but everything else is original! I love my MINI and I smile every time I see her!
2009 MCS with 40,000 miles.. no problems with the exception of the auxiliary water pump recall replacement and timing belt tensioner exchange that were done under warranty. 28 mpg around town 36mpg on long distance trip's.

update
bought new 07-S now at 49,000
been to the dealer for
- prepaid maintenance until that expired - now DIY
- they did the exhaust tip recall on a maint' visit - I would have skipped it
- the aux water pump recall
- took the car to a dealer invite "let us check it day" recently, first time to the dealer in over a year - after 45 minutes checking the car they recommended NOTHING
- I've replaced the brake pads twice - once at 1500 miles when EBC (green) came available and I bailed on the OE pads & again at 45,000 miles when I went EBC red and bypassed the sensors which said I should change pads some 9000 miles earlier. Rotors are fine.
- I've changed cabin filter annually and the engine air filter (with OE) once.
when I filled up yesterday my MPG was 33 with mostly around town driving & less than 10 mile round trip (so much for the short trip kills battery claims). Most weeks I drive less than 50 miles but there are occasional road trips. Still on original battery but I think I'm pushing the envelope on that one.
I'm usually a nanny driver huh!

42,000 here on an 08 hatch, mt. I've put 14,000 on it since I purchased from original owner in June. According to records only work done when he owned it was replace cracked windscreen and something with the moonroof . Very happy so far!
I recently got mine, but am now at 81k with no issues other than the occasional odd rattle. I'm nervously watching out though. And I have to really baby it to get much over 30 mpg actual (OBC displays about 2 mpg off).
Just turned over 15,000 miles. Had a fuel sensor replaced early on but, that's it. I do only average 29-30 mpg but, that's probably because I do everything you aren't supposed to do for fuel savings....he's just so zippy, I can't help myself...... I get over 33 on long road trips when my husband is there to witness my driving (shhhhh----don't tell him how I really drive). Love the car and it still makes me smile when I get to drive him. He is a welcome sight and immediate mood lifter at the end of tough work days.
2007 MCS bought new. 54000 miles and no problems. Never had any engine problems but I am one of those people that changes the oil every 4000 miles, the cheapest insurance you can do/have.

My 2008 which, I still own...trouble free for 10,000 miles. But it was towed and covered under warranty.
My new 2012....I gave 10,500 miles and no issues. My fingers are crossed.

'10 Camden with almost 50k miles with no issues. Did the water pump recall last year and replaced my hood scoop in te first year of ownership but have never had any issues. Going strong!
I have been trouble free for 29K miles. No issues other than some general maint, recall and warranty items (Chain Tensioner Seal Ring, Temp Sensor, Door Sill Trim, Oil Pump Solenoid Valve) taken care at the most recent service last week. On the other hand, my son, who has about 60K on his 09 MCCS hasn't been quite as lucky. I still love my car. It's the perfect balance of fun, sporty and fuel efficient. I generally drive my cars 100k miles or more before trading, but with all the known issues in MINI's, I am always on the look-out for a potential replacement once the warranty expires, which at this point includes next generation Golf GTI or R, Audi TTS or S5, BMW 135i, or a pre-owned 2013 or 14 Boxster or Cayman. Let's hope my MCS keeps going strong and doesn't force a change.
I am at 83000 on my 2008 Non-S and aside from my original battery deciding its time is up (I have the new one sitting in the garage, I haven't installed it yet), I haven't had any other issues. My plan is keeping this for the long run and adding a Clubman to my fleet. I love this car, I know the kids will demand more space soon.
