Check engine and low power issues

Hey, i love my Mini and, but for a few minor issues, it has been a great car...Lately the check engine light has been coming on intermittantly. Just before the light comes on the car "jumps" as if it just passed a dead spot...I am lost on this one as there is no timing belt, just a chain, and I don't believe the O2 sensors could cause this. car has 91,000 miles and has been well maintained...Any comments?

Jammy, you need to scan with a BMW / MINI approved scanner to see what fault codes are present.
With the CEL on, there are fault code(s) stored in memory that will hone in on your diagnosis.
However, without you reporting any codes, we simply can't help at the current time as the possiblilty of what it could be are limitless.

Scan, record, and reply back with the EXACT fault code numbers.
