I just installed a euro plate on my car. I did not want to tap holes in the front of my bumper, I found and installed using this.

It is made of aluminum, you need the extra short for the MINI. The screws come in from under, so if you remove it, you cannot see the holes. It also is very adjustable, and holds the plate about an inch or so in front of the bumper, so it gives it a nice shadow line. You can see the look in the pics in my gallery.
Very happy with it.

Sorry, I know this thread is dormant, but wanted to say thanks for the skeendesign tip; ordered an "extra short" mount for Punkin this morning...
Tnx, F&P

Nope, it's for centerline mount. It's for wife's car (Punkin) and she doesn't want the plate to be off-center . She wants "PN KN ###" and I'm trying to find a supplier that can include the Possneck district stamp as well as the 2012 inspection sticker between the "PN" and "KN". I might have to go with the Munich stamp though since Possneck probably not available.
Like you, I prefer the off-center location and my plan is to install off-center Euro tag on Flipper next year.

Sorry for the delay. Yes, the Skene is installed and there's no need to remove the bumper cover. It was an easy install...

Good choice, the Skene. The kit comes with two double-sided pieces of tape; they temporarily hold the bracket in place while drilling the holes from underneath; just be sure to wipe underneath the bumper with de-natured or rubbing alcohol to remove any dirt and wax. Otherwise the tape won't stick well.
For Flipper, I still plan on getting a tow-hook mount for Euro plate. I think the off-center tag gives an R53 that extra "down to business" look (lets more of the air go where it needs to go).
Have fun picking up your car in Italy! Chow!
