All my friends, including the female ones, LOVE the MINI. I took one particular girlfriend to my companies Holiday party and it was her first time in a MINI. She loved the ambient lighting and center speedo. Said it looks more fun to drive than her Forester.

Some girls are insecure...they want a guy with huge muscles, gold chains, designer clothes, and a big jacked up diesel dully....or they don't' feel like they have a "real man". I used to date a girl like that...what a waste of time. If they don't like something as insignificant the care I drive.....they can find someone else. If they judge you by the car you drive, they will judge you buy the clothes you wear, or the music you listen to. I don't want a girl that is that superficial....

I got rid of my old "I'm not riding in that car" girl....and I've got a new "I love your mini, when are you going to let me drive it!!" girl. Big difference in personality

Tee is up, son.

Give her the boot.

I had a GF that didn't like my GTi. She knew I wanted a Mini and she said, jokingly, that she dump me and real men drive SUVs....like an Explorer lol.
I told her even Camry's, never mind an SUVs, scrape it's mirrors when aggresively changing lanes.
I the joke was on her, I booted her superficial ****.

I met my boyfriend at a local club's car meet almost 6 years ago. So I was already into cars before we met. Then he stalked me for a while, I called him creepy, and ...we've been dating ever since.

Seriously?!? I always thought SUVs are the ULTIMATE chick vehicle. Like a girly version of a pickup truck.

FWIW, my girl has her own Dodge Ram, and likes my MINI more than my '73 Duster V8. To be fair, the Plymouth needs a paint job badly.

Yeah, any girl that is so petty about a car is probably going to be big trouble down the road. I honestly wouldn't fault someone for not wanting to ride in something too flashy, or customized (in poor taste, which of course is subjective). But teasing about it, and being bitchy sure looks like trouble to me.

So I jokingly said- what about a MINI? She looked and me and said - Okay, let's go to the dealership.

My face- :OOO

So we went, and instantly she saw a laser? blue R53 with white roof and fell in love. It's right around the same price as her VW and since she has driven it, she has been talking about it non-stop. Think she may be getting it sometime soon.

Might as well go ahead and propose...
LOL, if ya can't beat 'em, join them... There's really only two downfalls to that...

1) any mod money is now going to be split in half.
2) everytime you go somewhere, it's going to be a fight as to who's going to drive...LOL.

So give us an update, did she buy it?

I must be really lucky. My wife loves my car and my harley. She thinks it's cool when I put mods to it. Never complains about the money I spend on the caror the bike. Maybe because I bought her a new 2001 Nissan Juke.

Yeah, I get it. The OP's girlfriend thinks the MINI is a silly car. She'd probably prefer something clean and sober, like this (make sure you watch long enough for the "float")...

my girlfriend and i have an interesting outlook on my little mini....She calls it my "clown car" and laughs but she doesnt hate it or judge me for having it. She is actually really impressed by it and thinks its pretty neat on the inside. She loves messing around with the lights and said it looks "mean"...for a clown car...lol

She drives a jeep grand cherokee so she doesnt like how "small" the mini is....but i try to explain to her thats what makes it so great...shes not a car girl so she doesnt understand, but in no way does she HATE my little Watson....

If your GF wont even ride in the car and hates it that much....if she is judging you based on the car or causing problems or arugments based on the car, then she isnt a keeper....because thats something so small in the outlook of life that if she cant deal with you having a car she doesnt like, then what else "cant" she deal with...?

keep the car....mine gets looks everywhere i go and many women have come up to me and said my car is hot looking....i think its the black on black wheels

My girlfriend isn't wild about the MINI but she certainly enjoys the heated seats. Was a pretty easy sell once she got in and I pushed the button. I'm convinced she'll leave it on year round!

Mark...Mark...Mark...I am going to have to take issue with your comments.
1) Mod money being "split"...not here...if I want to mod my MINI the $$ is mine!!
2) Everytime we go some where in my MINI...I drive!!

He's to afraid of what would happen to him if he hurt my Baby!!

I bought the crashed mini to fix up with my youngest son. When I brought it home, the feathers flew, but eventually my wife just grumbled a little about it taking up space in the garage. Now that it is complete, and she has driven it, she is now asking "when do I get to drive it to work?" I didn't think that she would prefer it over her Honda Odyssey, because she likes to sit up higher, but now my son is wondering if he is going to get it when he is old enough to drive it. I'm glad that the car has worked out for all of us, because it is a riot to drive.

Some people it just takes one ride and they never talk bad about it again. Now ownership is a different story.

My wife and family at first made fun of my mini called it a clown car NC all that mess,I've let my drive it twice now and she is in love with cause he needs a bit more pace, she was the type who liked jeeps cause they sit so high up,after I got my MCS her dad saw it and I onus out he was in the market and looking at minis recently, unforchuately my mother in law talked him out of it cause his ankles bother him, could of gone the automatic direction..

Now he drives a Toyota and he's got to be miserable...

Is it just not visually pleasing to her or is it not "cool" or impressive enough? If it's the latter kick her to the curb. If she just doesn't like the looks teach her to drive stick, that will change her mind
