i really dont know what to do i want an exaust system for my first mod ive made up my mind. To the guy in saratoga ca with the grey mini that flew by me working in the street your car is bad *** i wish i know what set up you had. anyway im looking and looking and i love the alta exaust but its not smog legal in ca. is there any that are? any help would be great

 

Are cat-back exhaust (that don't change the emission components) a-ok in California or are CARB restrictions harder on mufflers now?

What other systems have you looked at? There's several cat-backs:
* NM Engineering
* Magnaflow
* Invidia Q300
* Alta Performance
* Remus
* Borla
...and several other options; there's plents of archived information on NAM.

I have a feeling that anything that cuts out the 2nd cat won't be legal in CA. Although the JCW doesn't have a second cat so who knows. I really like the Invidia and the Borla exhausts.
