LED Day Running Lights - Fogs

Hi NAMers.

I recently saw this at newministuff.com. Looks pretty cool but no pics of the entire front end of the car for a better visual. According to the website they do not have them yet but they are taking orders with deposit...of course in Euros.

Thought I'd share:

"Pair of replacement bumper mounted sidelight/fog lights for the 2nd gen MINI with built in DRL's. The LED's function as both sidelights & very bright Day Running Lights. They fit the existing mounting points in the bumper and come with a wiring loom which is connected to the battery. All other connections are plug & play at the lamps. Your existing fog bulbs swap into these & the LED's work as sidelights & DRL depending on if you have your sidelights switched on or not. We should have these in approx a month & are taking pre orders with a £40+vat deposit The full price will be £179+vat however as a launch offer they will be £161+vat The balance of £125+vat will be charged to your card on dispatch".

woah that's in British Stirling Pounds not Euros which mean is about 280 USD!

Don't know how noticeable it would be since fogs are so low?

I have been eying these for a little while now and am curious to see some better photos and perhaps a review or two before I would consider dumping that kind of money.

I would hate to buy them and then find out that they are obnoxiously bright and annoying for everyone else on the road except me... Hmm...

But since it's over priced. Can someone give me a link to the LED swap on the stock running lights. It was like $20-$40 somewhere with resistors and everything.... I can't seem to find them anymore.

Resistors built in. Been using these for over a month no problem...

I also replaced the bulbs above the rear license plate with LEDs. No problem there either.
