You shouldn't have to...it recharges every time you plug it in the car. If it's dying and you have comfort access, just plug it in and drive a bit....it says you should plug it in at least twice a year I think.

I think you will find that the comfort access key fob has a hatch on the back side that covers a standard flat replaceable battery. Type 2032.

As other said before, If you have comfort access you have a battery. You can pop the back off the key fob. It will not charge through the key dock. Only the non-comfort access cars do that.
If you don't have comfort access then you can't replace the battery, you will have to buy a new fob from the dealer for around $150. If you have comfort access and don't use the fob that often then it can loose it's programming and will have to be reprogrammed at the dealer.
