R56 sea-foam question...
sea-foam question...
i bought a used 2007 r56 last summer. luckily for me it only had 12k miles on it when i purchased it and since then i have put about 15k miles on it. I decided to seafoam the engine tonight and after following some of the how-to vids i found on this site i had a quick question.
started engine, pulled vac line, slowly poured about 1/3 of the can down the hose. quickly hit stop on the engine.
the engine kept stumbling after turning it off for about 45-60 seconds. i'm standing there with the key in my hand looking at the engine putter and stumble along thinking "what did i do?!"
let it sit for 5 mins (and while it sat, poured 1/3 of the can into the oil fill and the other 1/3 into the gas, just i used to do with my old jeep cj7
is that rumbling and stumbling from the engine going to harm it in any way? any one else have that issue?

Yes it does that when you do it. For one the vacuum gets off and two the sea foam accelerates and ****s with the air fuel ratios. No harm. But make sure you do the 1/3 can fairly slowly and little bits at a time. And don't forget to drive the **** out of your car down the road afterwards to flush the system out! And sometimes you can get a check engine light from doing this when it stumbles. Just clear codes and all set. I have access port so that works great for clearing a code
