I didn't have the auto up option on my 2005. I had Way Motor Works install it for me. It took him a whole 2 minutes and the cost was $50.00. Well worth it! I can still use my key from the outside to roll up windows and close the sunroof.

Good luck to ya!!

You can code the auto-up feature with NCSExpert. I've got a 07 EU model and have programmed the car to auto-up both driver's and passenger's side and closing of the windows and sunroof through the fob (opening was already stanard feature).

There are explanations on how you can do it in the "Electrical" section of the this forum.

"NCSExpert" is the coding utility used by BMW engineers during vehicle development. You can change the same settings a dealer can (+more), but in a more crude manner.

A good information resource is the site BMW Coding. THis site also has nice threads on the job...

Auto up windows were not available on the R56 until the 2008 model year. Auto up on the convertible was not avaialbe until 2009 when the convertible was switched to the generation 2 platform.

To get it on the 2007, you would need to have Way Motor Works program it for youo [or buy the cable] There is a thread regarding this.

Pop the fob out, then back in again...you should have auto up/down again.

Alex, I see you added the FH_MAUT_ZU_ACTIV_FAT to the NCSExpert spreadsheet to activate auto up on 2007 models. I've programed these in the FRM but still no auto up. Is there anything else you had to do to make it work?

Hmm... That is strange. No I didn't change anything else, but there could still be another setting somewhere which is overriding these. My car already had auto-up fro the driver's door, so I just changed FH_MAUT_ZU_ACTIV_BFT to AKTIV to also get the co-driver's door to do that.

Keep in mind, the auto-up ONLY works with the ignition or engine ON. Auto-down works with JUST the key inserted, so if you were testing it as such it wont go up

If you still can't get it to work, search for other settings in the FRM and CAS modules which have "MAUT" in the wording.

We have a winner! Tested it this morning and it works great. Also programmed in the "keep going up when opening door" and it works too. Thanks for the info!

On my 2009 MCS, I can hit the switch for auto-up with just the key in the ignition, car not running, I do it almost every night.

Auto up was not default in 2007 cars. I'm guessing that is the difference. There is more than likely another setting in FRM for that just waiting to be discovered for us 2007 owners. Time to translate more MAUT settings!
